Position Overview:

The Online Art Exhibition Curator is responsible for the conceptualization, planning, and execution of Diversity Booster's virtual art exhibitions. The role focuses on curating a dynamic and impactful online space that showcases artworks highlighting the intersectional uniqueness of individuals from diverse ethnic backgrounds in Kansas City, across the United States, and globally. The curator will work closely with artists, schools, and community organizations to bring to light powerful narratives that align with Diversity Booster's mission.

Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate with artists and student organizations to identify and source artwork that speaks to the theme of diversity and inclusion.
Develop an annual calendar for virtual exhibitions, each with its own sub-theme or focus, in consultation with the Diversity Booster board.
Curate and organize the online art space, including layout design, art placement, and the development of supplementary materials such as artist interviews or thematic essays.
Coordinate with the tech team for the smooth operation and user experience of the virtual exhibition platform.
Lead and facilitate webinars, panels, and Q&A sessions featuring artists and community leaders as part of the online exhibition.
Evaluate the impact of each exhibition through data analysis and community feedback, making recommendations for future projects.

 

Qualifications:

  • Working toward a bachelor’s degree in Art History, Curatorial Studies, Ethnic Studies, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 3 years experience in customer service.

  • Strong networking skills, especially within the art community and educational institutions.

  • Exceptional organizational and project management abilities.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
