Intersectionally Unique | An Arts Exhibition
Overview
Diversity Booster is excited to announce our ongoing Virtual Art Exhibition titled, "Intersectionally Unique." The exhibition will showcase artwork that shines a light on the intersectional identity of individuals from Kansas City, across the United States, and around the world. For more about intersectionality, view the worksheet here and check out this publication from the MIT Open Learning Library.
Our virtual platform brings the unique opportunity to transcend geographical barriers, inviting young artists, and art enthusiasts from all corners of the globe to partake in this celebration of diversity and identity. Artwork in the form of images and videos will be digitally curated, creating a rich tapestry that narrates stories of intersectionality from different cultural and social contexts.
The virtual exhibition will run throughout the year, with regular updates to incorporate new submissions and keep the gallery fresh and engaging. It is designed to be an ongoing display of diversity, providing a platform for young artists to showcase their talent and perspectives on intersectionality and identity.
We believe that art is a powerful medium that can be used to capture the complexities of identity and experiences in a visceral way, providing a window into the lives and experiences of others. This exhibition aims to bring these stories to life, sparking dialogue, promoting understanding, and fostering a sense of global community.
Art Submission
Diversity Booster cordially invites artists in grades K-12 to contribute their work to our virtual exhibition. We're looking for digital art pieces, photographs, short films, animations, and any other form of digital media that can be showcased on our virtual platform. The artwork should focus on their own intersectional identity.
